Lebanon Waterfalls Tour

Afqa Waterfall – Baatara Waterfall – Kfarhelda Waterfall
Exploring Afqa Waterfall

Firstly, we will visit the Afqa Waterfall, where we’ll explore the natural beauty of Lebanon. While there, you can enjoy a short swim and sunbathe, all while surrounded by the breathtaking scenery. The Afqa Waterfall sits at an average elevation of 1,200 meters above sea level and covers a total land area of 934 hectares. In addition, the river flows from a large limestone cave in the cliff wall, channeling water from melted snow in the mountains before releasing it into the springs and streams below.

Discovering Baatara Gorge Waterfall

Next, we’ll head towards the Baatara Gorge Waterfall, also known as Balou Balaa Waterfall. As we approach, you’ll be amazed by the stunning waterfall, which drops 255 meters (837 ft) into the Baatara Pothole, a cave that dates back to the Jurassic period. In 1952, researchers discovered the Baatara Gorge Waterfall, formed through millions of years of limestone erosion. Consequently, the Balou Balaa Waterfall offers a truly unique natural spectacle, perfect for nature lovers and adventurers alike.

Visiting Kfarhelda Waterfalls

Finally, we’ll visit the Kfarhelda Waterfalls, located in the picturesque Kfarhelda village in the beautiful Bsetines al-Issi Valley (Gardens of Canes). This valley lies about eight kilometers northwest of Tannourine el-Tahta and 72 kilometers from Beirut. Furthermore, Kfarhelda, an elongated village, houses ruins of monasteries and churches. The valley is particularly known for its lovely spring waterfalls, which cascade into the Nahr al-Jawz (Walnut River)—best admired from the road above.
